I am originally from Ohio, but I did my undergraduate work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign(Major in Political Science with a Minor in Chemistry).  In December 2010, I received my MLS at Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison.  I have nearly six years experience combined working in academic (3 years) and public libraries (4 years).  I have also had experience working with library vendors.  Since 2008, I have been professionally involved in the library and information science industry through association memberships, continuing education, committees, leadership, and volunteer opportunities.

In 2011, I was chosen to be a member of the ALA Class of Emerging Leaders.  My involvement with the Emerging Leaders program has continued with the 2012 class as a Co-Member Guide for the ALA Chapter Relations Office.  I helped them continue the work of the previous class with the development of Librarians Build Communities.  I am currently running for Assistant Treasurer/Treasurer-Elect for the American Library Association New Members Round Table.

In my spare time, I enjoy nature – biking and hiking; scrapbooking, collecting bookmarks and knitting.
